My new HTC Incredible rebooted this afternoon and afterwards, it does not sync with my Exchange server. When I try a manual sync, the screen displays a "sync protocol error". Any advice?

Try removing the account and setting it back up.

Such a lame response. How about VZW fixes the problem instead! At least acknowledge the lameness of the answer when giving it. LOL

A very lame response indeed. The owner of my company now comes to me every couple of weeks and I have to completely blow away his activesync profile and readd it to get his emails flowing again. It's embarassing and makes me feel **bleep** that I don't have a better answer for him.
How can they let this issue persist? Why won't they acknowledge it? **bleep** phone is great for people who are addicted to facebook, but unsatisfactory when it comes to people who rely on email.
All we can do is post this problem on every droid incredible review we find and discourage exchange activesync users from buying this phone.

I've seen that error before on the Hero/Eris, and yes, you have to delete the account off the device, and add it back again. Alternatively, I would recommend buying the third-party TouchDown mail application. It's leaps and bounds ahead of the HTC mail app in its capabilities and features, and well worth the $19.99 it costs. There's a 5-day free trial in the Market, if you want to try it out.

How often would one expect for this to happen? When you delete the account, it deletes all your contacts and breaks the links to your FaceBook People - so you have to do it all over again, or have numerous duplicates of the same people.
