I understand mg4499. My calendar and contacts are important to me as well. When you add new contacts and calendar to your phone, I suggest making sure to add them as Google contacts and calendar. That way they are backed up to Google's servers. Your contacts may also be backed up to Backup Assistant if you've used that previously. Check My Verizon and select Backup My Contacts under My Verizon at the top to see if your contacts are there. Login at gmail.com to see if contacts and/or calendar is there as well.

It is quite possible one of your neighbors has a Verizon Network Extender. If so, anytime your phone is routed through the extender, you will hear the tones on your phone. I have one so I know this is what happens. A lower sound and then a higher pitched sound. Any Verizon phone in range will automatically connect to these units. You can learn more about these in the support section. They do not reduce the security of your calls thank goodness!
