HTC Incredible UPDATE

So I was in the Verizon store today, and a buddy who works there showed me they just got the Incredible in to start testing. Thing looks awesome, and was super fast.  All he could tell me about a release date was within 2 weeks, since he himself didn't know - but said when they get the device to play with they usually start selling within 2 weeks of it.

Returned Droid for it.  Goodbye Nexus One, this phone looks way better.

Man I sure hope this is true.  I have a Helio device, and VirginMobile sent out a notice that our service will be discontinued shortly, so I need to find something else.

I really like the Verizon coverage map, although I wish it were more accurate than just "yes/no" type coverage and would show various "levels" of coverage like ATT and Tmobile.

At first I thought I wanted a Droid.  Then I thought I wanted the Nexus One.  Now I'm pretty sure I want the Incredible.  I really like the HD2 from T-Mobile, but I really would prefer an Android device to a Windows Mobile.

I'll stop at my Verizon store and see if they got any in their store too ..

So what did it look like ?  what color;  what did the back look like,  was it heavy; light.  Did you turn it on ?  how many flashes were on the back ?  Give us something.

I didnt get to physically hold it, he just showed me how fast the brower was.  The back is kinda ugly to be honest, I wish it was slicker like the Nexus One.  It looks like they ran out of room when adding the camera and had to extend it or something.  Couldnt tell you about the weight, as he was kinda holding in under the counter. 

I also forgot, but I reported that he was told they will be selling the Nexus One in stores - I was wrong.  He got word that they WONT be selling it in store, but they will be servicing the device.  So that should settle any confusion people had, I know i've heard that Googles service SUCKS and just only recently opened a phone line for support

I returned my droid, my phone doesnt have a camera on it. But whatever, im just ready for this thing to come out already.  I'll let you know if he hears anything more.  I asked the lady at the front desk about the incredible, haha and her reply was "Is that a phone?"  Goes to show Verizon keeps everyone in the dark until the last minute

I really hope your right!  I'm totally leaning towards the incredible instead of the N1.  I'm just ready for something to come out already!  I've been postponing going to the DROID in hopes one would drop, but i've realized they aren't gonna do anything while the DROIDs are BOGO right now.

Did the one you saw have a red back cover, or black?  Go back and pump your friend for more info

Ok....Im starting to think that im insane. First i just read from the WSJ that the next iphone that should be out in july is also being planned for a holiday launch for Verizon http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/29/wsj-apple-developing-new-iphone-plus-another-for-verizon/

Then i keep hearing about the incredible...which sounds less and less...well, incredible everytime i heara bout it compared to the EVO. Then there is the N1...which some say will be sold in stores, some say it wont, most say its a great phone. Which i have no doubt. But honestly....if you have a problem with a phone....do you want to call google's help line? I have a problem calling verizons. I CANT imagin what calling google will be like.

So....im confused as hell. I have a storm2. Its not great. Its as fast as a snail with a hangover.....but until someone at big red decides to give in and get us a REAL phone. Im stuck.

Besides Sense UI and the camera, the N1 and Incredible are basically the same.  It looks like Verizon WILL service the N1 even though its sold through google.  I would go with the Incredible.  As for the Iphone, its still a rumor and doesnt look like it will be out until POSSIBLY December, just in time for the holidays.  The other rumor is that its only being built for LTE, and in that case could be another year or 2 before it finally hits shelves.  I would go with the Incredible, even though the name sucks.

The big question i have is....looking at all of the leaked photos of the incredible....why didnt they make it the MONSTER the EVO is. I keep hearing engadget, gizmodo and Cnet all call that phone the best phone they have seen yet....then how incredible could the...um....incredible be? Why do we always get the phone hand me downs?

The main reason its that big is for its MASSIVE battery.  4G sucks battery 2-3x as fast as 3G.  Im content with having a great phone that WORKS 4g is spotty at best, and I dont want to have to wear another belt just to support this thing

Ok....i understand the concept that faster 4G speeds will suck up battery life. But thats not what im getting at. What im getting at is verizons lacl of really great phones. The EVO is essentally the HTC HD2. YOu cant tell me they couldnt have mad the same kind of phone for verizon? If palm can make the same phone across the board...sprint, verizon and now at&t is getting one....then why cant we all get the same great phone across carriers. Iphone same question.

Id stick with 3G...i mean i have a storm right now and it sucks. But id stay with it if it were a better phone.

They all have different networks, and its a big deal to design a phone for a different network.  Plus each company has its own line of phone for obvious competitive reasons.  Verizon is behind, but not really - the droid is the best phone out there besides the iPhone.  Cant blame verizon for the iphone thats apples own **bleep** fault for having exclusive contracts with AT&T.  Which end later this year, so then you may see an Iphone.  The Evo isn't out and wont be out for a while.  What does it do that the Incredible doesnt?  Besides the 4g. which amazes me because I cant get a freakin 3g signal with Sprint.  Either way, verizon will catch up this month for the best phones hopefully with the n1 and incredible....hopefully

Dude...nothing would make me more happy then to have an HTC incredible in my hands and be happy with it. I almost got a droid...but the keyboard felt like an old russian tank to me. I just hope that it has all the things the EVO has. Front facing and back camera, i Gig snapdragon harddrive, be able to be a hotspot....and the rest.

All im saying is that it just seams to me that verizon is counting on us all staying on as customers for the service...and not the quality of phones.....while AT&T has the completely opposite problem.

Agreed a front facing camera could be nice.  But I doubt Skype would work without 4g speeds, even then it kills my battery on a laptop, so who knows what it would do to a phone. The features sound cool, but could be unrealistic for their network.

Right now....all i want...is a fast processor....HTC sense with the newest android OS. The ability to use the phone as a hotspot so i can use it with my ipod touch. And have a good screen that i can see even if its a sunny day (which was a problem for my two friends, one had an eris, one had a nexus one). For me its the waiting thats killing me. My storm has more freezes then i can handle....and web browsing is a joke. By the time a page loads im at work and just use my computer.

I don't want to sound too skeptical, but is there anyone else who can confirm this? I can find a ton of unconfirmed rumors all over the place. Is this the only person that has seen this phone? This thread has been viewed over 4000 times since yesterday morning - nobody else has a friend at Verizon show them the Incredible too?? MAYBE someone with a camera that can actually  post a pic? I really want to believe this, but with everything I've read in the past month regarding all the new phone launches on VZW that haven't materialized have made me cynical. WOULD SOMEBODY PLEASE VERIFY THIS WITH ANOTHER PROVABLE SIGHTING!! I really cannot believe this is the one Verizon store in the known universe to get this phone. If this is true, then I apologize, but if not..........

Hes a tech, he doesnt work in the store front like a salesman does - his only job is to test devices and then train the sales staff when its time to release.  If you dont believe be call #611 and ask about the Htc incredible.  They wont know anything about it, but when they start to search HTC I - It will auto complete - meaning its now in their system and is only a matter of time.

OK, he's a Tech. Is there anyone BESIDES YOU that can actually confirm a sighting? As I said, I hope you are right, but there is no real proof. Surely someone else is also a tech, or knows a tech too and is willing to confirm your posting?. I do believe the phone is going to come out (hopefully soon), and your suggestions do point to it, but there still is no real proof of when it will be released. Sorry, I'm really not trying to insult you, just find somebody that can verify this and present proof for you, since you can't provide a pic or anything else besides what has already been posted.
