HTC Incredible won't sign into Google Talk / Download Apps

I have tried to login to Google Talk using 3G and WiFi.

I also cannot download apps.

I believe not being able to sign in to Google Talk on my Incredible is preventing me from downloading apps, to the point where I see "Starting download..." while there is no progress.

Please, can anyone help me sign into Google Talk to see if this fixes the app problem?

Have you been able to sign into Gmail? Once you've signed into Gmail, everything else should follow that.

Yes. I have signed into GMail.

When I click on GMail through the Incredible. I can see my @gmail.

However, sometimes I get a notification that Google Talk Authentication failed, and notice that it is talking about my @hotmail

How can I set it so it goes through my @gmail?

It is usually set up when you set up your gmail. Odd. Maybe you'll need to contact technical support. Do some troubleshooting. If you do do that, call from another phone besides your android phone.

Sometimes apps wont download for me either. I just power off the phone & back on. That usually fixes it but my gmail talk is working.

I factory restored the phone and then just added my @gmail first. -- This worked.
