Has anyone else had this problem with their screen?

This has happened to me twice, at random....................The background of the phone would go dark, and three bars approx 7 or 8 cm in width would appear running down the length of the phone.

Background was a dark gray, the three bars were a darker gray almost black. 

I called into Verizon just now and spoke to a CS rep and they transferred me to technical support.  They logged the problem, but I told them I didn't want to send my phone back, as they are on backorder already.

Please let me know if you have had ANY problems or issues with your screen.  The lady in tech support said once Verizon has taken reports on any problem with -3- people, they send it onto Motorola for resolution.

Yep.  I got my phone on the 15th, played a couple hours, went to bed, and when i woke up, my screen did exactly that.  Fortunately, my verizon store hadn't yet sold out of the phone by the 16th, so i just went in and got it replaced.  So far, this one has been running for 26 hours just fine!

how long did your phone's screen stay looking like that?  Mine was only maybe 30 seconds and it jumped right back to normal.

Will you please call Verizon and report the problem-they told me 2 more people and they would send to motorola for a fix.....

The only problem I'm having now is the battery, I knew the life would be short, but give me a break......I started using my Droid X at around noon off and on and it is 2:25 here est and the battery indicator is on yellow already !!

I installed the task killer but this is ridiculous.....

I guess I should exchnage it because of the screen problem-I just knew the phones were on backorder and I didn't want to give it up yet, LOL......maybe the battery is defective too?  I do plan on buying an extended life battery to help out a bit.

Theres a guy on youtube who has the same problem. I would suggest a data wipe just to be safe that its not a sioftware software, but I think you got one of the bad ones So far this would make it number 3 that Ive heard about. (Im a droid geek and am always in droid forums and online).

First day with the x i had a similar thing happen. I rebooted my phone and it went black for a few seconds and then came on but everything was in a negative looke. Blacks were bright white , whites were black. it was horrible. I turned screen off and back on after a few seconds and everything was fine. Only happened that one time and not since.

I bought online also. I exchanged at the store. Surprised they still had some left My battery life seemed ok.  But then again I didn't have it very long..

almost everytime you get any kind of lines going down  an lcd screen...its an issue of your lcd screen!  sound like maybe a loose connection or even possibly faulty circutry inside the X
