HI, my name is Steve and I very new to this world of info. I just purchased a Droid X(duh) from Verizon-it was a CPO(I have no problem with that.) This is gonna be alittle lengthy but here it goes:
I previously had a Samsung Sway-it wasnt a bad phone as far as it's functionality and what it could do BUT it was alittle bothersome and had it's quirks. THEN it started having software issues and memory problems and since my time was almost up(I had it replaced 3TIMES!!!) I went with something totally new and different. I had no clue it would be this involved! Like I said I'm totally new to this and it'll take alittle time and understanding HOPEFULLY with some help from people like you's and others that are accustomed to this and the phone.
*I miss alot of the basic/easy functions from the old phone and would like further info. I really miss things like the "tools" or "toolbox"-the calculator with MORE than just the BASIC functions, also with the "tip calculator" and "conversion" and "memory" abilities.
*When I got the phone and activated it and added the app to copy my Phone book from my MY VERIZON account on line to the Droid X, it seemed everything loaded ok. My problem here is that within my contacts I have some that have the pause and wait dialing programmed and it doesn't WORK!!! WHY???? What am I missing?
*Another one was the "voice recorder" feature which I used ALOT AS REMINDERS or just everyday blah-blah to listen to later-alot easier than writing down on paper or using the "notepad" feature which I also missed .[As far as that goes I did download the "color note" app and I do like it very much.] Is there a "toolbox", "desktop tools" or something of the sort where there are ALL the "tools" are combined in just 1 app???
There somemore but this is already plenty for now. I am just asking for help, ALOT, so I get steered in the right direction and get to fully understand how this phone works and what it can do. SURPRISINGLY, I have friends that have the iphone 4, ?? never bothered with them , but they really like this Droid X. ?!? I didn't realized just how much bigger it is but its alright and I like it. That's all that matters. Its just the "getting use to it" part and knowing how it works.
THANK YOU's VERY MUCH and I'm very sorry this is so long!

OK now breath.... Ha Ha
just playing, welcome to the Droid experiance.... Basically to break it down for you, the wait and pause feature would have most likely configured diffrently with the device you previously had, all you have to do is go into contacts and remove the pauses and add them back. And as for a voice notes app there is a number of free ones on the Market

Here is example of inputng wait and pauses, if you are editing contact use keyboard and just use (,) (Comma) as a Pause and a (;)(Simicolon) as a Wait...
