The home key on my Droid X is stuck. If I unlock my phone and go to the home screen it automatically jumps to; Voice Command screen, Recent Apps screen and back to the home page. All of the pages are pulled up by pressing the home key. I've tried restarting the phone and half the time I'll get a screen with the Android avatar with an exclamation point above it's head, I understand that is some sort of boot screen you get to by holding the home key down while booting up the device.
So any ideas on how to fix this, my warranty is up and it's another six months till I'm eligible for an upgrade.
try compressed air..not really sure what else if it is stuck
The button isn't physically stuck down, it's electrical or something. I tried compressed air and also left it a bowl of rice in case there was moisture in side of it some how, neither did any good.
Hi, syffuf25-
I'm glad to help with your Droid X! You've got a great job eliminating concerns by using the compressed air and rice bowl. I recommend a hard reset (http://bit.ly/oV4Meh) to eliminate the mechanical/software concerns. Please ensure you have contacts and calendar items backed up to Gmail/Google before resetting the device. Keep me posted!
Thanks,
