How big is Android 2.0

I know the Droid had 512MB of rom to hold Android 2.0. One of the things I hate about every Windows Mobile phone I've had is that the Rom has never been big enough to hold the next major release of the OS. It's one way for planned obsolescence. Anyone know how much Android 2.0 take and how much space we'll have for upgrades?

So far most of the reviews have said that there is roughly 256mb of free space out of the box. That will probably be pretty close to accurate I do think that on most of the review phones Android 2.0 was still in finishing stages so it may be slightly different. That includes all the google apps and whatever comes pre-installed. Your space for upgrades will depend on the number of apps you install obviously. Basically unless you are a gamer you should have plenty to get up to around Android 3.0 give or take maybe more. If they work out something around the whole installing apps on the expansion card then it should take you a long way. The processor will limit you before the space. 512mb would be huge for a phone OS I wouldn't expect any of them getting much bigger than 300 mb for a while really.
