How do I correct an erroneous reply address.

I have a G-mail e-mail account and also an EarthLink e-mail account installed on my Droid. I just found out that when I send an e-mail via the EarthLink account, the reply address that the receiver of the e-mail is incorrect. It is short one letter. I have opened that account on my Droid and then clicked on the account selection in the menu box. In the next window that is shown, it shows my e-mail address correctly in bold letters, but below that address, in smaller letters it shows my address minus one letter. Actually my address is user name@sprynet.com (Sprynet is a part of Earthlink). The address that is being shown is name@spryne.com. It is missing the "t". I have found all the places on the Droid to check my e-mail address (i.e. Incoming and outgoing info) and the only place it is incorrect is is on the account info page. I've used this e-mail address for over ten years and it works perfection when I send a mail from my Outlook account. Reply address is always correct. Any ideas?

The reply address, as with ALL pop3/imap addresses is what ever you happend to type in when you were setting up the account.  It isn't dependent on the operating system.

You can probably correct this if you go to the menu and account settings.  If not, simply delete that account and re-create it, making sure everything is typed correctly when you do so.

Thanks for your reply. I thought that might be the case, that somewhere I entered an incomplete e-mail address. Next question...how do I delete that e-mail account? That was going to be my next move, but not sure how to do that. Also not sure I remember how to add the new e-mail account. I'm 67 and memory is starting to fade. hehe    I do know how to add in all the information required when installing a new e-mail account. I did it once and can do it again Smiley Happy

When you open email, click the Menu botton at the bottom, there should be an option there, or under options to delete the account. :smileyhappy:  Same for creating a new one.

Thanks for the fix. It was tricky deleting the e-mail account since it was one of those things where you have to figure out what to press and hold to get the next menu to come up.  But Idid delete the account and re-install it and now all is well.

I have to say that I love my Droid, but their .pdf manual is sorely lacking. They often tell you how to install something or add things or remove them, (i.e. like removing or repositioning shortcuts), so I have to come here way too often to solve things with simple solutions that are not described in the manual. I hope the manufacturers of the Droid visit this community question and answer forum. Have of the success of a product is to make sure that the customer can use the product easily and to provide a fast learning curve. I have downloaded the Droid manual to my computert, but it only answers fairly simple questions about 1/3 of the time.

Thanks again for taking the time to help me.
