I would export them as a csv file to your computer and them import them into the Google contacts associated with your gmail address through the Google website. The contacts will then sync to the phone.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
How can I clear all contacts on my phone so I can transfer the new csv file?
Let's get your contacts from Outlook to your Droid X2 sturdevant3259. I agree with Ann154, I would export your contacts to a CSV file and import them to your Gmail email account and that will sync the contacts from your computer to your device. You can export the contacts by following the visuals here http://vz.to/SMfR2e , import them to Gmail here http://vz.to/11cfFgp and sync Gmail contacts with your phone here http://vz.to/10p6Xt8 . You can delete the current contacts if desired one by one here http://vz.to/YZknjD or you can complete a factory reset here http://vz.to/10hUuIB Keep in mind the factory reset will erase everything on the device so please backup accordingly. Thank you.
