Hi,
You can't move widgets from home screen to home screen so your only option is to delete the widget and add it to the correct home screen again.
As far as preventing them from moving....it wont happen again.

Are you using stock launcher or a 3rd party app? Launcher pro allows you to move widgets by holding on item and drag it to the left or right part of screen and the page will scroll as long as you hold it, kind of like drag and dropping and I believe the stock lancher has this feature also.

If I read your post correctly, your icons are moving around all by themselves. I appears to me that you have an apps that is causing this to happen. If you have a launcher apps, delete it and see if this is still happening. Check any other apps which might be causing this. I truthfully doubt if its 2.2 which is making this happen.

I was totally wrong about not moving icons to other screens. I didnt realize you had to hold the icon for a second on the edge of the screen.
Thanks for all the great replies everyone to OP's question. I was dead wrong.

Let me clarify. Using the launcher that came with 2.1 now upgraded to 2.2
Something happened and Many of the preinstalled items randomly moved to other Home Screens upsetting the original organization.
From this discussion I have found that some things appear to cross the Page Boundaries and some things do not.
So then three questions:
1. What is the Criteria that determines which items can be moved across page boundaries?
2. What could I have done to cause pre-installed icons/shortcuts/widgets to move to other Home Screens/Pages?
3. What can I do to prevent random migration of items across the seven home screens?

After you did the 2.2 update did you hard reset as suggested and use the options to stop 2.1 settings and apps from being restored after hard reset?
Try this....
Follow these settings during restore to avoid issues being restored automatically.
1. Uncheck "Back up my data" under Settings/Privacy
2. Click Factory Data Reset/Reset Phone
3. After reset is complete only Active Phone but do not input Google Email information
4. Once phone is at homepage go back into Settings/Privacy and make sure the Automatic Restore option is unchecked, even if grayed out, activate "Back up my data" and quickly disable "Automatic Restore"
5. After being sure that the Automatic Restore option is off it will be safe to log into Google and you can continue installing preferred apps and custom settings.
This process will stop all applications and settings from restoring automatically and restoring original issues that usually resolve a number of issues.

Sorry I misread your post, didn't catch it was doing it on its own.... I have noticed this happens occasionally when going to landscape and back to portrait. I think this comes from the software calculating the icons position on the screen, I experienced this before but I haven't had this happen for some time. Never was able to isolate exact nature of bug, it may be a wise ideal to uninstall any apps that rotates screen and disable screen rotation with LP if you have it installed.
