Actual message detail would help.

Anyway,if you can actually import your contacts to say, another email such as Gmail, that's all you would need. Gmail stores all your contacts to it that you can edit online easily, and it'll constantly stay in sync with your phone.

In my opinion, just get your gmail account, Manually put all your contacts in to ensure neatness and correction, and you'll be fine.

If you have Backup Assistant on your Voyager, you can now EXPORT the contact list to a .csv file, then use that to import the list to whatever program you will use on the Android.

Go to your MyVerizon, My Contacts, and there's a new option on the top right of the screen to Export .csv file....

I don't have excel, so I used microsoft spreadsheet. I imported the backup assistant into the spreadsheet. I then took some time to clean up the spreadsheet, moving the LAST name into the same cell as the FIRST name. I also moved all the phone numbers into the same column. once finished, I saved as a CSV. Then, I went to gmail, and contacts. There is an import button. I clicked and found my file. Very quickly, all my contacts were imported into gmail. It automatically updated on my phone.

Glad we could help, pal!

Now all you have to do is just use Gmail for all your contact/calendar needs and you're good to go! Enjoy! (And try to solution, too!)

Can't they transfer the phonebook at the store?  They transferred my wife's from a Chocolate 2 to the Omnia.  I assumed that WinMo and Android were similar in that respect.  Maybe not.

Because Android is such a different platform, I don't think that they have the ability to transfer it just yet, otherwise they would have done it for you already.

But, of course it doesn't hurt to ask :smileyhappy:

Here is another idea that worked good for me.  I used Bitpim to pull my contacts off my Voyager and then exported them from Bitpim as a Vcard file.  Went to my gmail and imported the Vcard file and worked sweet.  I tried the CSV file first and it didnt work like i wanted it to.

I like my Droid

Getting my contacts on my droid was a pain in the behind [edit]. Once they were updated to Google following the steps in the link below, they didn't magically just show up as indicated..

http://support.vzw.com/how_to_use/transfer_contacts/droid.html

I ended up having to go to the menu on the accounts, turning off my exchange account, then google, and forcing a sync by resetting the google account. Ugh. Most unpleasant Droid moment of the day. Really sucks that Verizon didn't figure out a smoother way to do this, previously i just installed backup assistant and synced right in the store. Wasn't until four hours later after I had my  phone I was actually able to get my contacts setup. The fact I had to go home and use a desktop was so lame.
