reent tab??? there is no recent tab?? do u have droid x or just a droid??? The closest thing I found to a recents tab is a recents folder. If you touch the screen and hold it a "add to home screen" menu pops up and there is a "recents" folder but even when bringing up the menu there is no clear button just, add, search, notificadtion, wallpaper, settings, nothing anywhere to clear the history list

On my Dorid X there is a "Recent" tab at the top. This was a useful solution for me and I only knew how to delete individually.

Wildman is talking about the "Dialer" screen, not one of your home screens. There are 4 tabs at the top, Dialer, Recent, Contacts, & Favorites.

thats for recent calls...what I am talkin about is the contact list...there are 3 swipe windows when you call up the contact list, its starts off in the middle displaying your contcts, swipe to the right and it shows social networking updates, swipe all the to the left and it has contact history which shows all the history for your contacts, whether its phone calls, texts, facebook updates, facebook messages, everything for every contact, I have facebook messages from months ago that come up because its linked to facebook. Even when you text and delete the conversation, it still displays all the texts in the history for that contact, I want that deleted out and there is no way to do it.

When you're on the screen you 're talking about, if you press the menu button (bottom left) that brings up a "Delete" button. Is this what you're asking?

I don't see a way to do it either..this is a SERIOUS flaw in my opinion. Complete privacy failure.

The discussion is about when you touch contacts and then slide to the left it says contacts history. It seems that you can't delete them. If you try it will delete the contact

Select your contact icon on your phone (not the phone) and scroll it to select the far left screen. You'll see the history there.

This is by far THE WORST feature of this great phone. I can't believe that NO reviewers mentioned this ridiculous addition. The feature can't be memory free. It has to be a flaw on Motorola's part. An endless feature that can't be erased....unreal. I see this as a "death grip" type problem if it gets out to the masses. This really is a serious issue. We ALL text things that aren't meant to be retained...whether people want to admit that is a different story...

If you delete a contact, the history will be removed.... that's as much as I know. I only noticed that because I had problems with my brother and texting (It kept adding a +1 to his number) and then i went to check my history, and he isn't on there at all.

Well until someone who knows what there talking about comes with an answer, you can always change the history that is displayed to favorites instead of all contacts, by pressing the contacts bar at the top of the "left slide screen" then select what you want to show there. But still will not delete all the history which Im worried will fill up my phone storage with unwanted info / data?

Does make it not quite as obvious but it's not hard to figure out to just select "all contacts" to view them. Don't understand why they would even put this feature on the phone if you have chosen to delete your txt messages. Lame.

I called Motorola this moring, and there is no way to delete the contact history as of right now. The rep said they have a lot of people calling in about this, so the are working on the software update. There is no ETA yet.

I just deleted my whole SMS History. When you open the SMS app, you need to his the MENU button in the lower left corner. Then select multiple. Hit the MENU button again, and select all.

That just deleted the active text messages you have currently.
Go look at your contacts and scroll to the left. You can go back and see everything.
