How to select multiple text messages for deletion

The previous version of the OS for the Bionic included a "select multiple" option from the menu for selecting a number of text message conversations at one time so that I could delete all the selected message conversations at the same time.  I cannot find how to do this with the updated Android 4 OS, Ice Cream Sandwich.  Any suggestions?

Press and hold the first thread/conversation you want to delete, it should then highlight in that funky teal color.  Press and hold the next thread/conversation you want to delete until it highlights.  Once you've selected all the ones you want to delete, press the trash can in the upper right-hand corner.

Thanks for the information.  I assumed it had to be simple, I just could not find it.
