I have a new Droid 2. The instructions (from the website) to download the contacts say to go to "Media Center" or "Get It Now" from the menu. Neither of those things is on the menu. But there is something called "Backup Assistant" that wants a PIN. I never set up a pin. So what do I do now?

The media center or get it now is for the old phone not any of the android phones. What phone do you want the contacts off of to transfer to your Droid 2?
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

If you had Backup Assistant on your previous device, then you would transfer them to your Android device through the following steps:
- From the home screen, touch the applications tab(located at the bottom of the display).
- Touch Backup Assistant.
- Enter the appropriate PINthen touch Done.
- Touch OK.
If the PIN is incorrectly entered 3 times, the account will be locked for 15 minutes.
- If the PIN is unknown, touch Forgot PIN.
- View and enter the current PINthen touch Done.
- Touch OK.
If the PIN is incorrectly entered 3 times, the account will be locked for 15 minutes.
If you did not previous have Backup Assistant on your previous device, you would have to take the old and new device in store to have the contacts transferred or enter the contacts in manually.

kSo9204, correct me if I'm wrong, but on pbones with Backup Assistance, if nothing was set up, isn't the pin the last four digits of the telphone number of that particular phone?

The last 4 of the phone number are typically the pin as long as it wasn't changed by the user.
If you've forgotten your pin it can be reset by calling 611.
