Well here I am in Iraq. I am switching to verizon, instead of att putting my account on hold before my deployment, they cancelled it. So now here I am in Iraq. I will be home for good in August or September. What is my best bet of getting the Droid X? Online? Or having someone go into the store on the 15th whenever they get time to try and get it and me a plan, then change the names on the plan? I just need to make sure when I redeploy to the states I will have a cell phone the day I get there and I want the X. I have read all the posts reguarding getting the phone, they all have different answers. So Im sorry, heres one more. I WANT THE X I need something nice to play with when I get home.
Well it sounds like the web may be your best way to go because if you send someone to store that isnt the primary account holder Verizon most likely wont even talk to them about making any changes to the account or even allow a new device to be purchase on account.
i would think ordering online as well. if you don't return until aug or sep then even if there is a month wait list, you'd be getting it right around when you get back. just make sure you get the shipping details correct and that there will be someone to sign for it because if you don't sign for it fed ex will attempt three deliveries and the vzn will cancel your order and you have to reorder and are moved to the back of the line.
also...if it will be late august or sep, then you can prolly just walk into a store (or best buy) when you are back in the states and get one on the spot. it wont have the shortages that the htc inc had.
