Incredible, Voice dialing issue?

On my incredible, I'm trying to use the voice dialing and very rarely do I get the actual contact I am trying for. The accuracy tends to improved when I say the contact lastname, firstname which seems kind of odd as the screen tip/help hint states otherwise.

Am I missing something?

Hi.  I see that you are having issues with your voice dialing and I can look into it for you.  When you try last name and then first name, you stated it does improve.  Do you have your contacts entered in that way?   Are you trying to voice dial using a Bluetooth or talking directly into the phone?
