Incredible

Are they ever going to announce the Incredible?  My kid threw my phone in the toilette and I need a new one.  I really don't like the phones they have right now.  Should I just give up on Verizon?

Sad to say, I'm getting ready to leave Verizon as well. I'm done waiting on them to release new phones. They are the slowest carrier when it comes to new technology and innovation. Say what you want about other carriers, but I've used them all, and they all sound the same and provide the same level of service. Verizon has grown too big for its own shoes and really doesn't care when a single consumer leaves. That was the reason I left for Alltel in the first place, and then got rolled back into the fold.

Then leave and when Verizon does come out with the new phones you all will be crying about how you wished you would have stayed with Verizon. This is the reason our country is the way it is maybe they are trying to get the phone nearly perfect before releasing it because otherwise people like you would be on here two days after it comes out complaining about whats wrong with the phone and why they should have waited. Verizon will be fine without one less person on their line.

Have you walked in a verizon store lately. what are you talking about? I have to defend verizon on this one. This pass fall , Verizon has released more phones than any other carrier, even T-mobile. From October up until now they have released the samsung rogue, TP2, Htc Imagio, Blackberry Storm 2, Droid, Droid eris, Samsung Omnia 2, Palm pre and Palm pixi, Moto Devour. So walk in a verizon store and look before you make statements like that. Verizon only released the best smartphone of the year(Droid). Its only 5 months old and now your complaining that verizon hasn't released anything. Complainers please stop it!!!

Droid was the only phone even close to be worthy of buying out of those choices.  Verizon is all about making money and taking advantage of their customers. How does Tmobile and Sprint offer the best Android choices? Just doesnt make sense.

It's the classical "grass is greener on the other side" sob. I've read the same cry from the SprintPCS forums when the Droid and Eris were released. "OMG the Eris has 8mb of ram, the Hero only has 2mb; why is Sprint so cheap!" just to mention one comment the comes to memory.

Point be said, no carrier can please everyone. However much I'd like to buy any phone and use it with any carrier, its just not going to happen anytime soon. If you don't like Verizon for reason "xyz", then pay your cancel fee, port your number and get on with your life. However, in 1 year, Verizon will have something new and cool and the cycle repeats. I'd love to be able to cross reference users in the past 5 years who posted these complaints on one carrier, only to post on said carrier forums 1 year later that they'd were going back to Verizon! :smileywink:

I have to admit, I do like the EVO that (Sprint?) is getting, but hey... I just got the Eris in November so I need to at least wait until my 1year renewal to drool...

You took the words right of my mouth. Like i said before , Verizon has released the best phone of the year 5 months ago and probably the best phone since the iphone and you guys are still complaining that they don't release any good phones. And sprint hasn't even set a date on the HTC EVO. Their talking about this summer. That could be July or even August. Verizon probaly will release the incredible before sprint releases it's EVO. So go to sprint and buy the evo and then after 5 months you will start complaining again that sprint takes forever in releasing good phones.

Don't think so. The HTC EVO is a 4g handset. Verizon won't be rolling out any 3g handsets til next year. The key is that you want your dollar to stretch as long as your technology. The Droid is a basic Android handset from a falling company, Motorola.

@ yellowboy and the rest of the moto droid fanboys/girls out there for that matter.

moto droid=massive fail IMO!!! It is ergonomically horrendous and as far as I'm concerned will be blown away by this mystery phone if we ever do see it.

Eris is on the right track imo but it just lacks something incredible (current OS, speed, bigger screen, etc.). Now I don't know if this whole thing (delay with htc and "incredible") has anything to do with a wonderfully crafted april fools joke, delays due to htc/apple suits, or just vzw dragging their feet for marketing reasons, or who knows what else. What I do know is when I (someone waiting for a long time for a GREAT phone) hear someone like you call the moto droid the "best phone of the year" it makes me want to hurl. I understand that is your opinion, but remember it is just that and nothing else.

peace!

More news is coming out, not sure of the validity, but here it is nonetheless

I have looked at the phones they have now, including the Droid and Eris.  If I got those phones, I would just be settling and wouldn't really be happy.  I am waiting for a truly awesome, worth it phone.  I'm not feeling the Nexus One because if I shell out that kind of money for a phone, I want to walk out of the store with it.  If Verizon has the N1 available as a demo to try in store and there isn't a release date of the Incredible out yet, I may change my mind.  Though I am not a trackball fan.

I'm starting to wonder if this phone will ever come out. It feels like we're chasing a ghost here.
