Internet Connection Issues

Hello All

I have had my droid X for just over a month. I have started to have internet connection issues. My wife and I both have the Droid X and I have noticed issues with both the GPS and the internet connection over the 3g network on my phone alone. This doesn't really make much sense I treat my phone like royalty as does she. In our own house when I initially bought the phone I had no issues with internet connection over 3G anywhere. It worked brilliantly everywhere in our house on the highway for the entire duration that I have owned the device until about 3 days ago. Now it has issues everywhere. I get the internet connection interrupted message or it takes forever to load then tells me the connection has been interrupted. The part the piqued my interest was that my wifes phone had no issue at all. Then I realized that her phone acquired gps signal faster than mine does and has the entire time we have had our phones. I checked the settings on both phones and they are the same. Is this something wrong with the network or the phone? We live in the Washington DC so I can't imagine that it has to do with the network and as I said before its been brilliant up until 3 days ago. Also ive had the phone longer than the 30 day break in period. I am sure this should generate some issues. Anyone have any suggestions?

This is a  bug that came along with 2.2 update and is being worked on, when you experience this issue you can cycle airplane mode or reboot and connection will restore, also it seems to drop less if you change power manager to performance mode because the other option disables connects at curtain times and the performance setting gives a looser setting for the data connections.  Goto Settings > Battery Manager >Battery mode and select Performance Mode or Custom if you want to set your own preferences.

So im kind of ignorant as to how most of this stuff works, admittedly. Reading the forum ive kind of gathered a working knowledge of things that will cause this sort of issue, I have some ideas. Namely I think that im going to limit the amount of apps im downloading and begin deleting the ones I have to reduce the amount of traffic on the processor. Do these bugs just arise suddenly like this though or are there usually other variables involved in making them come to the surface?

P.S. I did switch to performance mode on the battery and the airplane mode is a quick fix kind of deal. Im very happy with the device at any rate it still gets internet and does a hundred things I need it to do even without the internet and has plenty of memory for use as an mp3 player. Ive kind of just chalked it up to software and have braced myself to wait until the new release comes out.

The problem with some apps are they are created by users like yourself and I.  Being there is no particular standard for making these apps there are issues that arise at times.  So what most of us do is add one or two apps at a time, see if they play well with each other and then proceed after a couple of days.  It may seem like a tedious process but I've encountered very few issues and none that I could not resolve myself.

so when i delete the apps are the settings that they may have manipulated still in that changed state or do they revert back to the way they were before the app had been downloaded? Would it be better for me to just reset the whole thing and start over or am i dealing with a bug i should just settle that thats the way it is until an update? Or option C its hard to really tell just give it a whirl and see if it flys?

Every problem that occurred because of an app has cleared up for me with an uninstall.  The apps that I have dealt with only change settings while they are active, those settings revert once the app is closed or uninstalled.
