Phone is new.....my hubby & I got the BOGO, same place, same time....different sales person set each up. His came without the 'key lock' MINE is set up WITH the 'key lock' (at least I think that's what its called....the slider bar on the home screen that I have to slide open everytime my phone goes to sleep)......anyway....how do I remove it???? I thought it was in "security" but I see no open there to disable it.
Also, I am trying to use the "missed call" app.....it doesn't work with my phone.....I am thinking that the 'key lock' thingy is interfering with it???
Thanks

There is nothing in settings which will allow you to disconnect the lock. However, all is not lost. There are several good apps you can download which will do this. I use "No Lock."

Congratulations on your new phone! I love the Droid X2! There is a really easy way to disable the lock screen. Here are the instructions:
From the main screen, touch menu tab
Touch Settings
Touch Display
Scroll screen down to and touch Screen Timeout
- 15 Seconds
- 30 Seconds
- 1 Minute
- 2 Minutes
- 10 Minutes
- 30 Minutes
- Never Timeout
This should resolve your issue. I hope this helps. Thanks.

I don't think that's what the OP is looking for. Your instructions just keep the screen ON all the time. If in that mode and you "blank out" the screen (e.g.., single press POWER button), when you wake it back up you are presented with a screen that must be SWIPED to unlock it ... So the other solution to use a 3rd party app like UNLOCK seems the right solution. IMHO

Yes..Cody21...after some research on my part.....YOU are right!! It looks like I need an 'unlock' app. I haven't downloaded one yet...still considering it. Still wonder why I have the (slider) lock/unlock and my hubby doesn't, since we did the BOGO thing. (strange...)
In any case....thanks for your responses!

That is indeed strange that his doesn't lock .. Have you compared your installed APPS side by side in the APP drawer?? One thing he could try is put it in SAFE MODE and see if the lock/unlock returns ... that would be a dead give-away that he has a 3rd party app installed ... very weird. Good luck.

You could return to the store where you purchased your phones and ask the rep that set up your husbands phone how (s)he did it?
Personally, I prefer the slide-unlock. It keeps my phone from turning on when I don't want it to. Heck, the iPhone does it so it must be a good thing right? (sic)
Good luck!

Thanks Dirk,
I am debating about keeping it. I do kinda' like it.......it's only because I want some kind of 'missed call reminder'
The app I installed doesn't seem to work and I'm thinking maybe it's because the lock is on....
