I had recently installed the latest software update on my Driod X phone and I don't like it. Is there a way to go back to the previous version?

It may be wise to search the forum before posting a topic that has been covered, the serach option is your friend...

There is not an option to downgrade an OS upgrade. What about the update do you not like? We do have support information here.
Thank you for your contribution!

"What about the update do you not like?"
AdamE_VZW,
Surely you must have been reading other posts on this forum regarding the Droid X and the Gingerbread update problems, etc.? If not, perhaps you should take a look.

You must be kidding. The original poster of this thread said he didn't like it, but the OP didn't say why.
Adam was wanting to find out more on what the OP didn't like about the update....
Maybe you can read the OP's mind, but Adam more than likely cannot.

Sorry, I did'nt mean it that way and no I'm not a mind reader either.
All I was trying to say was that Adam might want to take a look at other posts and see what else folks are having problems with. Yes, I too am happy with it also except for a minor e-mail glitch that I can live with. Again, I apologize if I offended anyone.

At first glance the changes were acceptable, but the longer I use my Droid X the more I want to throw it out the window.
Here are my issues with the newest update:
Before recent update (June sometime) my extended battery would last about 2 days (with Pandora and internet radio running). Now I'm lucky if I can last a whole day.
Hangs when trying to unlock. (sliding bar)
Slow at loading apps that have been previously downloaded.
I used to have an issue with the phone getting the 3G signal, but I called Verizon and they suggested *228 option 1. That took care of that problem.
I've got system version: 4.5.596.mb810
Android version 2.3.3
any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Really sounds like you have a rogue app causing your slowness. Or a live Widget or Wallpaper? What Widgets are you running? Live widgets can reak havoc on screen response times. Have you recently installed anything new?
Have you tried the CLEAR CACHE procedure? (let us know if you can't find it using the Search feature up above.) have you done a Factory Reset? That might be your next option - but is much more involved (again, SEARCH is your friend). Addtionally, testing in SAFE MODE might help you trouble shoot the issue to eleiminate most 3rd party apps for a period of testing. This would basicaly confirm that the OS itself is NOT the problem and an APP is.
There are very strong rumours that a fix update is coming in about 3 weeks. version .605 (from .596). Stay tuned.
