Link Facebook to your contacts

How come with gingerbread you no longer able to link a contact to their facebook contact?

I can. If I go to "edit contact" I can see the "Facebook Contact" icon and it tells me the data it pulled from the profile. 

Inside the "edit contact" location, i can hit the menu button and select "separate" to unlink, or "Join" to join this contact with another profile or contact.
