I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same problem. Two days ago my weather widget has changed from my home town (Naples) to the next small town north of us.(Bonita Springs) I cannot get it to change back. I have my gps and google gps as well as Verizon location ALL turned on. Also, the gps is displayign my home correctly, yet I still can not get it to change back. I have never had this problem before since I have had the phone. (first day it was released) I have also tried to add city, but Naples was not found. Does anyone know what has changed the past two days?
In addition to this, I am also having issues with my Skype mobil for Verizon. When I try to log on it gives me a message that I have to be on the Verizon Network in the US to use this. Again, I have had this on my phone for months and it always worked flawless. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but it did not fix it. I can install regular Skype mobil (none Verizon) and it works fine. Anyone has any idea as to why I am having these issues out of the blue?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks!

Sometimes things go wonky between different apps updating and accessing different parts of the phone. You can try a soft reset. This is done by powering down the phone then removing the battery for a few seconds. For the gps issue, you can download gps status from the market. This app allows you to clear gps data and download current data.
Great ideas...unfortunately didn't work. I got the gps and got current data (although I am now thinking the weather wdget might be pulling info from a tower and not gps). I have also did soft reset. No change.

I have provided some information below that may be helpful.
Step 1 – Remove the weather widget from the home screen.
Step 2 – Turn off all locations (VZW, Satellite, Google)
Step 3 – Delete the weather data (instructions below)
-Select Menu
-Select Settings
-Select Applications
-Select Manage Accounts
-Select All
-Select Weather *
-Select Clear data
*Do the same with Weather Widget (if applicable)
Step 4 – Turn on all locations again
Step 5 – Add the widget back to the home screen
Step 6 – Re-sync the weather widget
Step 7 – (If the steps above did not work) complete a soft reset. (Instructions below)
-Power the device off
-Pull the battery out for 20 seconds
-Place the battery back in
-Power the device back up

On the Skype issue, did you recently download an apps? Sometimes, more often than not, two apps will bump heads trying to get the same thing, such as space. Like to kids fighting eachother for their parent's attention. As for the location bit on your GPS, that is not an easy one. I know when I turn on the GPS/WiFi The map shows me about three streets over than where I really am. I have not yet found a way to calibrate it. As for using the Google navigation, I gave that up as far as local driving goes. Unfortunately, it likes to use only major arteries when I know a faster, simpler way.

As for the weather widget issue, the location for weather is determined by the tower you are hitting at any given time.
I don't know how far the small town is away from you, but if close, you could be hitting a tower there. Maybe the one you normally hit is down for an upgrade.
Where I live, I hit one of five towers around me at any given time.

Yeah Bonita is about 4 miles North of me. I think you are right about the tower. It is annoying, considering I haven't had this issue before and now it wont go away.

I haven't downloaded anything recently (past 2 weeks) before it stopped working and kept giving me the message that I need to be on the Verizon Network in the US. After trying several things I did download the other Skype app (none Verizon) and that works fine. I am lost as to why...
