You should have a backup of the messages on the stock messaging app. If they appear there you might want to reinstall the Handescent App..if not it might be backed up in their options.

So you went into the built in messaging tool for the incredible, and all your messages from there are gone as well? If that's the case, unless the backup tool backs up messages as well (which I don't know) then the handescent app probably cleared them out...which really sucks! Anyone else got ideas?

yup, what is odd is that handcent tells me that I have sent 422 messages and says (160/160)1 on the bottom right, which hints to me that I might have a chance of getting them back, no response from handcent yet.

Are you using a task killer or force closing programs??? I lost all minetexts msgs last week, but I was trying to determine how much battery is used to constantly close programs and apparently killed one too many.Have you checked the stock messaging program??? Any messages that handcent has goes there as well.
To get there, open the apps list and click on, "Messages".
I downloaded an app, SMS Backup. Now messages are sent to an SMS folder in Google Mail to be stored, in case I do something **bleep** again.... which I guarantee I will!

no, not any task killers, and no force quit, just pressed the widget and they disappeared, nothing showing in messages either!
there is a post on another forum about the same thing happening: 2 messages show, then when you press the widget they are all gone!
I'm not a happy camper....
