I lost my WiFi (connecting disconnecting). I went thru tech support, finnaly took the phone to a Verizon store where they spent over 3 hours doing all kinds of tricks that their support people told them to try to no avail. I then went over my 3G limit of 150, called & asked about upgrade which was 2G for $30. They state that I couldn't go back to the 150 as it was a "Special". Since I no longer had the use of WiFi I decided that I'd have to take the upgrade. As soon as the upgrade went thru my WiFi began working. I think Verizon cut off my WiFi to force me into a higher plan.

sounds more like your internet connection had issues.
were any other connections/laptop/etc that use your wi-fi ok when the phone wouldn't connect?

what version, .605 or .621? settings/about phone.
i've said it before & i'll say it again. everything that does wi-fi in the house can connect wpa/etc except the phone, which will only connect with wep encryption, thru the linksys wrt 54g router, v 2.04.4.
not connecting at the store could be their encryption also, unless they have an un-encrytpted system or maybe their system was down.
& it could just be the router not working with the phone.

Ver 621, Mifi has been reset to factory specs etc , tried on unsecure sites at the time when not working. Verizon store WiFi was working properly properly @ the time. The WiFi on the Droid X just started working when Verizon upgraded the plan, like within minutes of the upgrade

After all of the upgrades etc that the Verizon store did it still did not work. It wasn't till I up graded the data plan that it began to work all with same encryption that had been used before and after the upgrade.
