I turned my phone on this morning and went to send a text and noticed all of my other text messages were gone. Is there any way to get them back? Has this happened to anybody else?
Yes it has happened to many. Have you adjusted the amount of texts the phone will hold before they are deleted? This was a new function added with 2.2 that we were not made aware of.
Go into the stock messaging program, click MENU>SETTINGS You will see the options at the top of the screen. I shut off deleting.
And the messages are history. I have downloaded an app called SMS Backup by Christoph Studer. It will automatically forward messages to a file folder you set up in email.
I never had the option selected in the first place so I can't imagine why this happened. And to be honest I am not tech savy enough to even know how to delete all of the messages at one time so I know I didn't actually do anything to the phone.
That was my best guess. You don't have a task killer program running? That would be my only other thought.
this has been happening way to often for the amount of denial going on, it happened to me, all the settings were correct and poof they were gone
It is not happening with just Incredibles either. So I do not believe it is a rogue app.

I don't know I think it may be the BA itself. Just today I have seen three features phones mentioned who lost their contacts last night. They don't have Froyo.
If it BA... EEK! ! I never been so glad that BA doesn't work on my phone. Hehe. Google keeps my contacts safe.
