Love it! But....

Hey everyone,

So I have had this phone for about a week, was hesitant since i prefer HTC Droids but so far I am liking the speed and battery life....gotta few problems though, dunno if its worth exchanging or if its just bugs that will be resolved eventually with future updates.

1) Camera: absolutely terrible, but minor I suppose compared to the phones other capabilities...read a thread and it looks like there is no work around to improve the performance of it. I know I shouldnt rely on a cell phone camera for all my camera needs, but its there and it be nice if it was as good as HTC device cameras.

2) Google Navigate: Stops all the time when I am on the road! Tried to trend it, see if low battery or other apps are killing it but cannot seem to pinpoint it

3) Headphone Jack: I use the aux in my car all the time, I have to plug it up a few times before it works. Tried another aux cord but same thing. Thought maybe the headphone jack was loose but it appears to be in tact.

4) Apps dissapearing: I try to transfer as many apps as I can to the media area, but any time i turn my phone back on after powering off, the shortcut is there, but when pressed, the app is not on the device...so I have to reinstall.

5) Insufficient memort/data package invalid: This is probably the most minor of all issues but several apps I install (especially after issue #4 above) I have to install a few times before it completes.

Thinking about going back to the HTC TB, losing out on alot of speed and memory by doing so, but I use the camera, GPS and auxiliary so often! I have about 4 days before I can return it for a refund...was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing these issues and whether, in your guys opinion, whether its worth holding out for a software update, or not

Thanks everyone!

The apps are mostly games, and i did confirm all GPS are checked. I have messed with it some more and it looks like once the battery gets to about 20% or lower, the Google Navigate stops....which bites because I have learned that charging this phone in the car while using GPS only keeps the phone alive, doesnt necessarily charge it.

I was thinking there was a 'power savings' feature on this phone which is on the INC2 which automatically kills certain functions when it hits a certain percentage, but I didnt see anything.

that's what it sounds like and what i initially thought (a power saving feature), but i'm not familiar with the device. i would do a factory reset today and see if it clears anything up. i know it's a bit of a hassle setting everything back up, but this way you will still have a few days to test it out before having to return it. that's just too many issues to live with in my opinion, and even if some of them will be addressed in updates down the road, you have no idea if that will be next month or next year.

Google nav see if u have all gps checked it helps me anyways. Improper data plan might be sim card or something on vzw end.

I hope i helped give u ideas.

As far as pictures go, I've found the camera takes excellent pictures outdoors, but if you lower the light to a typical indoor lighting condition, the quality drops dramatically. The camera doesn't seem to focus well indoors and the pix get very grainy. The dramatic drop off in performance is really odd.
