Just got home from a 4 day trip to NC. The GPS and handsfree calling worked great. Now I just have to decide if I like it enough to keep it and pay the $50 since I don't really NEED it. My favorite app so far is Pandora streaming music.

You do so need it! And what do you mean by $50?
Glad you're enjoying it! What phone are you coming from?
I look at it this way: My smart phone is my #1 source of entertainment. I don't hang out in bars, travel much, smoke or drive an expensive car. So I'm not paying much for my daily entertainment.
I'll be getting my Droid in May, IF I decide to wait for NE2. It seems like too long to wait for a small credit though, doesn't it?

The $50 includes $10 for third line, $30 for unlimited data, $5 for 250 text, and $5 estimated fees and taxes. I kept my old phone and number as a "home" phone connected to a Phone Labs Dock N Talk. The thing is, I also have a $60 USB modem and Charter cable at home. I've kind of gone overboard with internet access.
My NE2 got a 90 day hold last month when I switched my primary phone from my wife's to mine. I thought about waiting to order the Droid, but decided it wasn't worth the wait.

If you have the luxury of being able to spend the money to have the Droid, I'd say why not. It's definitly a spectacular device.

I wish I knew for sure that Verizon was going to offer legal tethering with the Droid and when.

Yep, that's why I said "legal" tethering.
