Manual Update

A friend of mine manually updated his droid to 2.2. Will he receive the OTA from Verizon. Are they the same version. Do they install the same. He is experiencing many of the problems that others are.

If he did the manual update he will not get the current OTA update.

There are rumors that another update will be coming soon (note rumors... unconfirmed) which he should still get if it happens.

As long as he just did the manual update and didn't install any custom ROMs he has the same version as the OTA update.
