Many Droid 2 problems after Gingerbread update...oy!

At the risk of sounding like a broken record here, my Droid 2 was a dream for the first year....then Gingerbread (Android 2.3.3) was forced on me and my Droid 2 in September, and the nightmare has begun!

The phone now turns itself on and off at its own will, often in the middle of doing something important like answering a call, talking on the phone or using an app to find important information.

I turn the phone off at night and often see it turning itself back on 15 minutes later...I thought at first my house was haunted and the ghost wanted to make a call :smileywink: I've adjusted the backup assistant to run in the middle of the day so it wouldn't turn the phone on at night but no effect. I put the phone in sleep mode instead of turning it off if I can remember to do so but that is a poor solution.

I've tried every tip mentioned here on this forum that doesn't require extreme technical skills and still the phone has taken on a life of its own, making its value to me plummet.  I'm a long time Verizon customer and there is little chance I'll renew again next year if this is what I can expect...for now, Verizon, you've ruined my Droid 2 phone joy. Help!
