Menu > Settings ??? No longer there!! HELP!

I am not sure what happened, but I no longer have a Settings app in my menu. Nothing even close. Tried to open my Market, but it tells me Background Data needs to be enabled. I can't do that if I don't have any settings to turn it on. No settings also means that I have no way of updating anything. How do I get my Settings tab back? I can't find it on my phone anywhere. Please help!?!?

Hi Joekel,

If your not able to access the settings on the phone itself, perhaps a soft reset can help get back your settings tab. This is done by restarting your phone. Use the power button to turn the phone off. If the display is off, press the POWER/LOCK button to turn it back on. When asked to confirm, tap Restart. If you can’t restart the phone following the above steps, remove the battery, wait for a few seconds, reinsert the battery, and then turn the phone on.

In closing, the way to turn your background data on is located in the under the setting tab.

1. Tap Setting> Accounts & sync.

2. Select or clear the following : Background data If this is selected, apps can send and receive online account information even if you are not currently using them.

This morning my settings button is not there.  I get the message "linked program is no longer installed on your phone".  I have restarted my phone several times.  Nothing.  Help me please.
