Merge 2 calls on HTC Incred?

Hi, does anybody know how to merge 2 calls on the Incredible running Android 2.2? Scenario, I am on a call and get another incoming call. I swap over to the new call using the call waiting feature, putting the first call on hold. At this point, is there a feature/menu option to merge both the calls into 1 conference call?

Thanks.

Use the menu button to after you have the 2 calls and I believe there is an option called merge calls

I tried it before I posted an answer and it worked. I'm sorry

Let me clarify the scenario as I just tried this test again to no avail.

1. Incoming call accepted on Incredbile

2. New incoming call accepted, putting the first call on hold

3. Incredible displays both calls, active call with green dot and on hold call with yellow dot

4. Hit menu and no "Merge" option is displayed

5. Options include, "People", "Flash", "Mute", "Speaker" and "End all calls".

Let me know if "Merge" shows up as an option for you.

Thanks.

Let me try, except mine are outgoing calls.

With two calls on separate lines, My options are,  Speaker On, Mute, People, Merge Call, End all calls.

Maybe outgoing is the difference, but I have a tough time thinking you can only merge outgoing calls. That would stink.

I just confirmed that I do get the "merge calls" option when I initiate the calls only. No "merge" option when calls are inbound. Hope it's just an issue with my phone and not the Incredible or even worse the network. Seems like a no brainer on the "merge call" functionality to support incoming and outgoing calls.

i'm not sure, but i believe you can also take an incoming call and then call the thrid party that you want on the line and conference them in. this is a total guess, but i just don't think many people merge 2 incoming calls so it was just an oversight to not include that function. i believe that usually, most people take a call, then call the third party, or call both parties, to initiate a conference call.

I have read your post and understand your concern with merging calls. Here are some steps when placing a call.

From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located in the lower-left).
Touch Phone.
Dial the number then touch Call.
Touch Menu.
Touch Add call.
Dial a second number then touch the Call.
Touch the Merge calls icon.

Thanks Ambria, but to answer the user's question, it's no.  We cannot take 2 incoming calls, and make it a 3-way conference.

On Verizon's support page for the HTC Incredible:

***

Can I turn a call waiting call into a 3-Way call?

No, but you do have the option to speak to the second caller by pressing SEND. To return to the first call, press SEND again. To switch between the two calls, press SEND.

Too bad.  It seems like something very basic, but there must be some kind of technical difficulty preventing its realization.
