Any suggestions would be helpful. My gmail contacts and my gmail email sync whenever I first sign up, (I have done two factory resets to try to correct the issue) but after the first day my gmail contacts wont sync at all, and my gmail email will only sync when I open the app and hit refresh, I was under the impression that the droid at least "pushed" gmail email. Yes the sync is set to on and background data is set to update in the accounts and sync section. Gmail Calendar seems to work fine. Also I have only received one facebook notification about someone sending me a message, no pokes, no friend requests, nothing else. Anyone else having this issue. I love the OS but if it is gonna be half baked, I would rather go back to my storm 2 or tour which may not be as advance but handle email and contacts the way a phone is suppose to.
It's not the droid, it's your droid. Get a new one.
If you search for gmail in this forum you will see the solution for this. I had the same problem and figured it out.
Should i install a task manager because there is not one in my list...and google talk is running
I never even have checked to see if it was working until this thread and was shocked to see an appt I put into the droid at the doctor was in my gmail calander.
At least something works!
The calender seems to be the only thing that syncs properly and well for me so far....i might invoke my return policy and take it back, the last thing i want to do is wait till the supposed update on December 11th when some bugs are supposed to be resolved, and this not be corrected.
Came across this on another forum:
The claim is that you need to have full birthdays including the year, or remove the birthdays all together from your contacts in order for the sync to work correctly. Gonna try it now
