Back on December 9th I bought a new Motorola Droid and renewed my account for another two years. After about a week, I started experiencing a problem with the phone, the battery cover kept falling off. Christmas Eve it apparently came off while I was out and around and I did not notice it gone until I came home. There is obviously a design/manufacturing problem with the cover. Checking the internet confirmed this for me based on the numerous postings by others concerning this problem. I need help in getting this problem corrected, any suggestions? I already tried going in to the store, I waited about an hour, only to have the Customer Service Rep say there was nothing she could do for me and referred me to Motorola. That is not acceptable, I bought the phone from Verizon, not Motorola, I expected better treatment then "its not our problem"! Have others experienced this problem? Whatever you can do to assist me would be appreciated, I either would like to have a new cover or have my phone exchanged for a new one. Please advise, thank you.

Do you happen to know the part number for the new door? Mine hasn't fallen off, but it is clear that if the little metal pins get worn at all it will start to slide off. This isn't necessarily a Droid design flaw, it is a Motorola one. My previous RAZR V2M had the same kind of door.

just tell them that yours is falling off and you would like to know how to get a replacement because you heard they were sending out replacements for bad doors.
they will send you one free of charge
