I'd rather wait it out a bit longer. Chances are something better than the bionic will be out when 4G is more stable. I will upgrade to that when I feel our 4G in Hawaii is stable enough. I am not worried about losing the "unlimited" data plan. Verizon has always been kind enough to let you keep plans for a very long time regardless of policy changes once you already had them.

By the time i get to upgrade Tidbits there will be 10 or 15  new phones out i can't get one untill 2012 thats unless i pay full retail for it. :smileysad:  but who knows if Verizon does some more axing on there full retail prices i might make that jump.  :smileyvery-happy:

Yeah, my upgrade isn't available until 3/15/12.

And I'm guessing LTE in Honolulu won't be available until later this year. (Honolulu wasn't on the latest list of cities to get LTE)  I definately won't getting a new phone 'til 4G is up and running here.

You're right there should be some great 4G phones available from Verizon in the first half of 2012.

Did any of you users get there Droid X on release data?  If you did you may can update one more time with the early renewal because when you signed the contract this option was still avalible and Verizon may still allow you one more time to use this option....  Just food for thought for anyone considering upgrading...

I would consider waiting for the Bionic release but since the report says in the summer that leaves a large time scale and also since they was reported to completly redesign the device means that the test time was minimal to work out new software and hardware compatibility, I see possible issue in the future for that device. :smileymad::smileysad::smileywink:

Wildman i got  Birtha on the Day after the release of the X an got my D inc. in sept. or oct. an at the time i was able to upgrade

both phones an keep our Alltel smart choice Plans. We have the same Min. as Budone does an when i ask the rep. when doing

my upgrade can we stay on our smart choice Plans an he said you can stay on them as long as you want. an when you do another

renu or upgrade just pay for the equiptment an do another 2 year an keep it Going. But since these data plans changed i dont

know if it will affect that or not its a one in one hand an another in another. I  guess me an folks will find that out when its time to

upgrade but if we have to pay data for two phones. That won't work an i'll be Lucky to get one phone if a smartphone at all as my dad

is'nt to fond of them at all  :smileyvery-happy:  He's what you call a 50's kind of guy that done'st like this new fangle. ****

Well Verizon keeps saying that wherever they have 3G now will have 4G LTE by the end of 2013. I guess we'll all found out if we stick around long enough.

Absolutely true, I still haven't even heard a hint of when 4G will be coming to the KC area from Verizon tech support, the store reps has told me by the end of this year, which could be true but so far not even a whisper of this around... Will have to see.

At this moment Verizon has been the only reception that I haven't had a ton of drop calls, actually I can only remember one on the 3 years, so as long as they don't get to extreme I am open to changes but I have to say the new rate plans for data is leaving a strange view of how things is going..

Well wildman whats weired is Wichita Kansas its a smaller city than the Kc Metro an surrounding area will get it this Month if they

havent already lit it up.  they've been testing for a month an half wildman as i've been told that an then saw for my own eyes at the

Kellogg store Location. I was looking at a T-bolt , then the Samsung , then the New LG an they all had the 4G indicator on them

an they were set up to use an i pute one in my hands an give it a try but the rep, she said the tecks were still working the kinks out

of the system But should be in full use soon. My Mom has to go over to wichita tomorrow to have some minor lazer eye surgery an

while there i'm going to drop by the Kellogg store an see if the system is at Full Power an see how one them works an get me

some new litature if any new is out.  But i dont know for sure if Topeka has been lit up With LTE as well i'll ask.  you know to me it

should've been the other way around. The Kc Metro an surrounding area Like Lawrence , Oletha , Shawnee Mission , Etc. to

Topeka should of got it first because off be a more populated Area. But what do i know they seen something there in wichita an

thought they needed it before a bigger area. I guess.  It is time for a Break pop went to Braums an got some Nuttie Cones i.m

going to fridge an get one  . By all :smileytongue:

Thanks DincX, I had seen those a little earlier.  It's good news for those of us living in Hawaii.  I probably won't be able to take advantage of it as I'm to cheap to pay full price for a phone. I'll most likely be waiting 'til march 2012 when I can get an upgrade at the subsidized price.  If the Bionic is the best phone for me at that time, I'll get it. But if there's a better phone available or at least on the near horizon, I'll wait.  But I think LTE is gonna be a "killer" way to connect to the internet. I'm looking forward to it.

It's gettin' fun now!!!!! Smiley Happy
