Music Question

Does cost anything to play music off of a 3rd party player (like Google's), my current phone is an HTC Droid Incredible. My last phone (envy 2) had a found after playing music I was charged a $1 a song I played, unless I bought it through Verizon. I just wanna know if they will charge me if I play music on a 3rd party player that is not from Verizon.
