My Droid 2 talks before my ringtone plays

This is driving me INSANE! It does not matter what ringtone I use, before it rings, a woman says "verizon wireless". It then rings a few seconds, pauses and repeats "verizon wireless" and rings a few more times til voice mail picks up. Also, when I make a call, a guy says "verizon wireless" before the call connects. I've checked my TTY settings, they are off. This is driving me crazy. I promise, these voices are not in my head! haha HELP, please!

Try Call Settings ---> Caller ID Readout ---> Select 'Ring Only'

If that one doesn't work you can also try Settings>Sound & Display>Remove the check mark beside Roaming Tone.

The Answer to your Question is I have the same Phone you go to the settings menu then to call settings then go to caller id readout and then hit ring only and that should solve your problem

Roaming tone will fix it. It's a setting for people who travel a lot and may not know whether they're roaming and want to make sure they don't get hit with roaming fees. Not much of an issue with VzW android phones since *almost* everyone on VzW has free domestic roaming built into their plan. If you don't, it can be a useful feature. I find it annoying though >_>
