My Phone will not send text messages

I have sent messages and instead of it showing a date and time they still show as sending.  I have tried shutting my phone off numerous times but that didn't help.  I have tried to sending new messages now 20 hours later and they still won't send.  Any help please??

Hello j6inc!

Let's get your messages going and try some troubleshooting OK? Are you using the messaging application the phone came with, or a 3rd party messaging application? Please power off the device, and remove and reattach the SIM card. Then power on and try to send another message.
Are you able to receive messages?
