My phone is acting up

My phone will randomly shut down when I'm in the middle of performing a task such as sending a text or email.  My phone doesn't have great reception in places that it normally does, the battery only last a 1/2 now, and, to top it off, my camera doesn't work anymore.  When I try to use the camera, I get a black screen.  Is anyone else having these problems or tips I can try.  Also, with the battery, sometimes it doesn't even tell me how much of a charge is left, it shows a gray battery with an ! through it.

I wanted to avoid a factory reboot as I have a lot of pictures stored on my SD card that I don't want to lose.

I'm not eligible for a new phone until January, but does anyone know if Verizon will let me upgrade early?  I don't want to invest anymore money in this phone because I am definitely upgrading in January at the latest.

Pictures saved to the internal memory are deleted during a factory reset.  Those stored on the SD card should be safe.  You can also remove the SD card before completing the Factory Reset for an extra measure of security.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Hi mmyers0613

I'm sorry for the inconveniences you are experiencing with the device. @Ann154 brings up a great point. The SD card will not be erased during a hard reset. You just want to ensure your important files are saved to the SD card before resetting. Here are the steps for reset: http://bit.ly/Wocz8b. Keep me posted.

Thanks Adam.  I just reset my phone; however, it is still acting up.  I guess I just need to wait for a new phone.
