I would like to visit this again even tho it's been on here before. What is the feeling about not using a cover of some kind in the DX? I know some of you have found favorite covers (cases) but I visited an Apple store today and while I like the feel of the iPhone, it is so much smaller than the DX and harder to see the screen. I just wondered if removing the cover would remove some of the extra bulk from my Droid. I'm concerned it might not be a safe thing to do. Any ideas?
I think it's a matter of how you personally use/treat your phones. Are you known for dropping phones in the past or getting them scratched a lot? I, for example, am the clumsiest person alive. I can't think of a phone I've had that I haven't dropped or fumbled atleast once.

I don't use a cover or a case at all -- even though I bought one when I got the phone ----- just because I had used them with previous phones. The Gorilla Glass is super; not a scratch in 6 months and it cleans up really well. I've only had ike 2 very short drops in my car. No damage. I just stick it in my jeans/shorts pocket and try to remember ot have the screen facing my leg.
This is really a personal choice. For myself, I prefer the silicon case. It slips into the holder very easily, and comes out, when you need it, just as easily. Some people really like the Ottocase ( I think that's what it's called). And yes, I know someone who just likes to slip her Droid X into her purse without a case. Do I find that the silicon case makes it feel heavier. Truthfully, no. However, in all honesty, I do think that it makes it feel a bit bulkier.
