I just purchased a new Droid X on Friday night. Yesterday at 4 pm, the battery went dead. I charged it for 2-3 hours. The home screen stays on for a few seconds, then it dies again. I have charged it several times, and after hitting the power button, I get nothing. I am wondering if I hit some button my mistake in trying to get it to come on. Any advice?

Leave it plugged in and turn it on, see if it stays on while connected to the charger, if not you know there is something wrong with the unit.

Do not charge it with a PC usb, when the device totally discharge the pc wont charge device, so if you are plugged into pc unplug it and plug in wall... It will power up after a little charging.

The intial charge also takes over 8 hours. If you did not let it fully charge there is a small chance that the battery could be damaged. With a high draw device like the X, you must let the battery get this initial charge.

Thank you to all of the Community Members for the troubleshooting tips. Additionally, we suggest removing the battery for 15 seconds. This works as a hard reset for the phone and may resolve this issue.
