New Gingerbread on HTC Incredible

Both myself and my boyfriend have downloaded and installed the new Gingerbread update for our Droid Incredible.  We are experiencing poor battery life.  I take my phone off the charger at 130pm and by 5 pm it is in yellow.  We are also experiencing "low on space" warning when truly there is 500+ MB available!

We are also experiencing slow/no sync with Gmail.  We can manually sync it, but it doesn't seem to sync on it's own..

Did you by chance install the update over a device with a number of app configured on the device, I suggest backing up and hard resetting to resolve the issues because this is the easy way than walk you through all the items that is needed to correct the issues...

Read up on this post (http://community.vzw.com/t5/Android-Apps/After-the-Update-Somthing-to-consider/td-p/642367) to understand why I suggest this....

After you reset did you try to use the device for a little without installing any apps to identify if the issue is related to a app possubaly...   Try booting into safe mode to see if it works better with apps disable..

  • Turn the power off. If your HTC DROID Incredible is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
  • Hold the Volume Down button
  • Press and release the Power button
  • You are now presented with a menuthat allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
  • Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
  • Press and release the Power button
  • Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO

If Hard rest, No Apps or Safe Mode doesnt work then you have something else causing the issue which sounds like a strange one..

Turned off "quick boot" under settings/applications.  Quick boot keeps some phone functions active even when phone is turned off.  Battery life is now much better.
