New Update Locks Screen Screen Keyboard

Ever since the new update was installed on the Droid, my screen freezes all of the time and the on screen keyboard will not select the correct letter for typing.  This is very frustrating and I would like to know what, if any, solutions there are available to me.  If I need to do a factory reset, then I will, but I would like to do everything I can before I try that.  HELP!!!!  It's the first time I HATE my phone!

I've had nothing but problems with my Droid & I'm on my 3rd one.  My screen freezes up, sends texts to the wrong person, calls go straight to voice mail, drop calls, etc...  It's so frustrating because I need a phone that works for my business.  I'm not eligible for an upgrade until December although my husband is eligible for his upgrade.  I may use his upgrade so that I don't have to wait until December.  I did check out the Thunderbolt & wow, it's super fast but I'm a bit nervous about all the talk about the data plans changing & being more expensive.  I don't think that I have the 4G coverage in my area.

I just checked & I have the 2.2.2 Android version on my Droid.

We would suggest removing the battery for 15-20 seconds. This would be considered a hard reset and sometimes resolves the issues you have described.  If this does not resolve the issue, completing a factory reset would be the next suggested step. Be sure to backup your contacts, pictures and data on your phone prior to completing the reset.

The Droid does not send text to the wrong person, you do. You have to actually open the incoming text and then reply. Or you have to create a new text with the proper recepient in the address box.
