New color scheme of Droid X update sucks

What is it about Verizon and color schemes lately? Just got he new update for my Droid X and the color mix really sucks. On the status bar you now have dark blue icons, 3G & signal, on a black background???? That is just one example that breaks all the color mixing rules. How can I get the old color back as there is no contrast so the new icons, etc are very difficult to read.

Verizon must have some strange designers as they also screwed up the latest FiOS guide with colors that have no contrast so cannot be read.

Hey Verizon if you are employing color blind designers please let us have the option to change the colors you push on us.

So how can I get the old color scheme back?

Then Motorola (in this case) tweaks with their UI.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Which update are you talking about? I just updated mine and I don't have the colors you're talking about...

Just went and checked, it says mine is up to date with the most recent update, and I have a blue status bar with a white clock in the top right and a light blue 3G and signal indicator. I can see it perfectly fine, the colors are contrasted enough.

Not sure what you're talking about at all.

+ 1 Vereyezuhn:  the update thats on Verizons update Page is this one here.

http://support.verizonwireless.com/pdf/system_update/droid_x.pdf

an it only shows the update for the Keyboard fix an thats all i see in it.

Update:

I see what the Op is reffering Too when you look at the top of the X it's dark Blue up in the banner an the signal indicators are light blue but can turn white. An this is part of the Gingeread build. An can't be changed that is unless you choose a differet launcher then you ( might possibly )  be able to change the Color Then. But i'm not sure as i've never used a different Launcher from the Market . B33

The OP said the status bar was black with dark blue icons. Mine is dark blue background with light blue icons - VERY easy to see. I know what you mean about the icons being white sometimes when 3G isn't connected or whatever happens. But that's been the case ever since GB was released in, what, June?? And people are complaining about this now? I've read a couple other posts about changes with the latest update that I haven't experienced on mine either.

I feel like people have some sort of personalization app theyre using that got changed somehow.

The absolute only change I've noticed with the most recent update, is that my 3 preset alarms seem to turn themselves on randomly. I'll go into my alarm app to change one, and there will be one or two ON that I haven't turned on (that I haven't even used in months, to be exact) I use one alarm a day, and leave the other 2 on the last used times but turned off.

Yes, if you (the OP) look closely, you will notice the black border of the phone's display, compared to the dark blue Notification Bar. The lighter blue icons are easy to see.

The previous color of Notification Bar was too light and there were complaints it distracted people and took away from the aesthetics of the display.

You can't please everyone.....

The update is System version 4.5.605.MB810.

My dark blue notification bar is almost black and the light blue icons are a darker ble for me Very difficult to read compared the the previous stock colors.

As someone said, can;t please everyone so should allow colors to be customized.

You can certainly customize it. That's the great thing about Android. Although it can't be discussed here, if you do a Google search you'll find your answer.
