Why can't I send an e-mail?   I type the address...the message...hit send.  Nothing happens!  ??

Which email APP are you using? Did you check the SETTINGS of the APP to make sure it's set to PUSH the email? I know this might sound like a big DUH, but you have an actual 3G or WiFi connection, right? (e.g., not in Airplane mode)

If you're using the regular email app instead of gmail or yahoo, you need to make sure your outgoing smtp settings are correct.

I recommend checking your email setting to ensure you are provisioned to send emails. Listed below are instructions to check the incoming and outgoing server settings. (Your outgoing settings could be the reason your not able to send an email). Once you check your setting, be sure to power cycle your phone.

 

 
  1. From the home screen, select the applications tab (located on the bottom of the display).

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Select Accounts.

  4. Select the email account.

  5. Select any of the following options:
    General Settings
    Incoming Server
    Outgoing Server 
    Other Settings

General settings

  1. Verify the General settings.
    • Account name
    • Real name
    • Email address
  2. Select Ok.

 Incoming server

  1. Select mail server.

  2. Verify the server type.
    • POP mail server
    • IMAP mail server
  3. Verify the incoming server information.
    • Server
    • Port
    • Username
    • Password
  4. If applicable, select Use secure connection.
    Note Enabled when a green check mark is present.

  5. If applicable, select Verify Certificate.
    Note Enabled when a green check mark is present.

  6. Select Ok.

Outgoing server

  1. Verify the outgoing server settings.
    • SMTP server
    • Port
    • Username
    • Password
  2. If applicable, select Use secure connection.
    Note Enabled when a green check mark is present.

  3. If applicable, select Verify Certificate.
    Note Enabled when a green check mark is present.

  4. Select Ok.

 Other Settings

  1. Select the Number of messages to sync drop-down.

  2. Select one of the following settings:
    • 25
    • 50
    • 100
  3. Select Ok.
