I can't find "Contact History" on my DroidX after the Gingerbread update, but I can on my wife's DroidX. Did I accidentally disable Contact History on my phone? I've dug through all the settings I can find, but no luck.
Both my wife and I have a DroidX. I updated both our phones to Android 2.3.3 aka Gingerbread using the official update process. Both our phones now show as Android 2.3.3 and System Version 4.5.596.MB810.Verizon.en.US.
On my wife's phone if I go into Contacts and tap a contact, the screen has a "Contact History" option, followed by the contact's phone number. But on my phone (same model, same 2.3.3), when I tap on a Contact there is no "Contact History" option. How can I turn on Contact History on my phone? I've tried searching, and all results are about people wanting to clear the history for a Contact. My problem is that I don't even have an option to view the contact...

"Contact History" will only show up for a Contact if you had recent correspondence with them - either email or phone call. Check some of your other Contacts and see if the choice is there ... Not sure what the "recently used" criteria is - but some of mine go back before GB update,

The first thing we need to do is get your contacts on your phone so that they are viewable in the Contact List. The Android operating system on your Droid X is designed to back up your contacts to the Gmail account you must have in order to have data capability. Have you checked the Gmail account to see if your contacts are there? In addition to Gmail, you also have the option of using Backup Assistant, a free application that allows you to securely back up your contacts to the VZW website. Did you set up Backup Assistant on your handset?

Thats the way it works here. Contacts with recent history show up with the button to view History. Contacts with no recent history don't have the button.

Thanks for the pointers. When I checked other contacts, they did have history. I guess my next minor question is what constitutes "recent" for history? I was looking at a contact that I know I'd called and texted within the last week, but no Contact History option. I wonder if "recent" means only since the Gingerbread update? Anyway, things are working fine for me. Thanks for the help.
