I am so disappointed in the Droid Incredible. I did buy it knowing that there were problems with the battery, but for pete's sake I couldn't even get a days worth or a night out with it. I feel having to spend even MORE money to get a bigger battery AND another case since the battery is so much bigger is really ridiculous!!! HTC should send ME a battery for FREE!!!! I am not a heavy user - usually a few texts & checking email, once in awhile I go on to the internet & check facebook (which also sucks as an ap for android) - I have installed advanced task killer and seem to be doing that all the time. There are things that pop up on the selected aps that I haven't even used!!!! The other night I went to a concert and had hoped to use the camera for some pics since I forgot my camera and the mp are higher on my phone. I was able to get about 10 photos when my battery life went down to about a quarter, then in no time to a yellow bar, one text later red - tried to squeeze out another photo and DEAD - my brightness is turned down, but honestly this phone has a great screen it ticks me off that I can't keep it bright.
I have just had the phone for almost a week and cannot seem to get used to it. I am usually pretty saavy when it comes to new electronics but this one is making me crazy. As much as I didn't like my BB tour, it had a better calendar (especially for syncing w/ Outlook) - checking emails was easier and for the most part I was able to get pictures if they were attached (maybe there's a setting I'm overlooking?). I never really used any aps w/ BB (mostly because there weren't many like my ipod touch) and had hoped that this phone would work at least similar to the iphone regarding the aps (I know I said the bad "i" word - sorry). The contacts & syncing is not very easy and I had to link everyone one by one which took me hours!!! Is there a way to set a default phone number? I.E. I have separate ring tones for my husbands cell & home numbers but when someone calls from home it's my husbands ringtone.
I know there are more things that have upset me but I cannot think of them at this moment. What I am afraid of is that I'll settle like I did w/ my BB Tour (which I ended up not really liking so much) and/or Verizon will dump this phone, I still have 3 weeks to decide if I am going to return it or not. I am sure I don't know all of it's potential at this time and I know there is a new Froyo update coming SOMETIME (hopefully will come 2 weeks early like my phone did) so I hope that helps. As far as the battery, today my phone seemed to last a little longer and I was on it a lot today. I had read that you shouldn't let the battery drain completely anymore but I did do that 2x now (not intentionally of course) and it seems to be keeping a charge slightly longer.
Thanks for reading and letting me vent....

Have you tried bump charging? (Charge until green light... unplug....plug back in..... charge until green......repeat until green comes on when you plug in)
I wouldnt use a task killer, it may be part of the problem.
Have you checked battery usage to find out what apps are using battery?
Have you checked to make sure your phone sleeps?
Call Verizon and tell them your problems. If you get the right person, they might send you a free battery.
Have you been to other forums and searched for battery tips? They are out there.
Froyo should help battery problems as well.
lots of random ideas here, hope they help.

Everything the first poster said plus
Check wifi and gps are off. Check how often your phone syncs (checks email facebook texts ect) enable auto brightness if not already. widgets on your home screens eat battery regardless of whether the phone is on standby or your in another app. Loose the excess widgets and any live wallpapers they practically kill battery single handedly.
Cheers

I read on another forum site (wish I did this) that if you call and complain about the battery life and specifically tell them that if they are aware the phone has a "known battery issue" you demand an extended battery. Enough persistence and they will eventually cave on a free extended battery after a supervisor approval. Apparently it works.

you may also have an actual defective battery. i know they are poor....but if you're an average user, you should get a full day. i get about 20-24 hours of "awake time" with about 3+ of those hours being "up time." i'm not an expert, but i think that means it's on for a whole day while i am actually using it for 3+ hours during the day. it's not great, but is o.k. if you're only getting a matter of hours out of the battery, and not even using it that much, then you could have a bad battery. or it just need to be set up much better. i leave gps on, but i did decrease how often it checks fb, pulls email, updates weather, etc.

thank you all for your suggestions, when my battery died the other night, i left it off & charged it, got a better day the next day ~ i still think it's crazy that a phone of this capacity sucks the life out of the battery and that it is a known issue - shame on HTC
@ dabubbakin - should i call verizon or HTC???
Since I've been checking out all the forums, I am going to stick w/ the phone... there are some things I don't think I like right now (like making phone calls) but maybe it's operator error... I want to see what the froyo update will do and I'll keep looking for suggestions...
Thanks all...

Take all my suggestions.
Froyo (out sometime) will improve battery life.
Call VERIZON not HTC if you need.
