it would be nice, like on many sites, if within the email notification, there was an option to "opt out" of that individual thread.

On the ACTIONS tab on the right, the "Receive Email Notifications" toggles to "Stop receiving email" ... Click on Receive first, than Stop.

fyi: the 1st time removes & 2nd time turns back on.
