okay, i find this problem kind of odd...
(Droid 2)
when i recieve a text while my screen is active and i dont touch anything, i get the whole tone and my light blinks.
when i recieve a text while my screen is off and i last left it on my home screen, i get the whole tone and my light blinks.
when i recieve a text while my screen is off and i last left it in a thread by someone who im not recieving a text from, i get the whole tone and my light blinks.
heres the problem. when i recieve a text while my screen is off and i last left it in a thread by that person who im recieving that text from, the tone only goes off for about a second and my light blinks once or twice and stops.
so i tend to miss a lot of texts if im chatting with the same person and i dont exit their thread and i just shut the screen off.
i dont understand how it works fine under any other condition. ive tried factory resetting it but that didnt do anything. anyone have any ideas? i just upgraded from the original droid and im still within the return limit so if i cant work it out then i'll just go swap it for another droid 2.

i figured it out. for some reason its Lookout that was doing that to my phone.
i got the phone exchanged and it worked fine. then after i put about 4 apps on it was messed up again. so i figured it was one of them. i went one by one uninstalling/reinstalling all of them. i found it to be the antivirus/malware program 'lookout'.

Huh? Mine does that too. I thought it was suppose to be that way. Now you got me wondering.
Does anybody have theirs in a different configuration?
