For the last week I have only been receiving 3G service, not 4G.. I upgraded to 4.1.2 and there have been serious battery life issues but that will be another question. I am more concerned that I am only getting my service in 3G, not 4G. Any thoughts? If it helps I have the original Bionic (still works) and I am in Minneapolis. I have pulled out the SIM card, reset it 10 times, even tried to be patient. Thank you in advance for any advice.

Interesting. I have a droid Bionic too (no need to upgrade a working device). I've been getting 3G only since Sat. I live in Phoenix,AZ however. I just posted a question a little bit ago. It would be interesting to know if this is a bionic issue or a network issue. I keep expecting to see a bunch of network issue posts but I still haven't seen any.

I guess your screen name "Dougneeds4g" says it all.
I'm so glad you brought this to our attention. Software updates should help with the device, not make it worse.
I appreciate all you have done to try to resolve the problem you're having with the signal issues.
First, I want you to check your coverage area http://bit.ly/xVecuo to ensure you are in a solid 4G area (not extended 4G).
Next, proceed with a soft reset http://bit.ly/YxaENZ and make sure the data is enabled http://bit.ly/SSEM4S.
After that we want to ensure data roaming is on http://bit.ly/QHUO1f.
Once all of that is done, can you let me know how the signal is?

Tamara,I am in downtown Minneapolis where the coverage is strong.
I tried the soft reset - nothing happenedI tried the Data enablement - already enabledI tried the Data Roaming - I enabled but still 3G.
If it helps, I can't get my location for google maps so maybe that has something to do with it?
Thanks.

I have fixed my GPS issue but the 3G/4G issue is still not working. I went through all the steps and nothing. I tried it twice.
The mobile network (which I can't change because grayed out- or don't know how to) is LTE/CDMA and the network type is 1x and 3x only.
Thoughts or tricks.

Yes LTE/CDMA is the only option for the Bionic. I never got my fixed either on the phone. Because I tried just about everything that you could possibly try, I ended up trying to get a new phone. I say if you know someone with an Android 4G phone with a Mini SIM, you could see if with their SIM your phone gets 4G or your card does not get 4G on their phone. If so, then it's an issue with your SIM or something. I wish I knew someone where I would have tried that myself. BTW I say Mini SIM because the new phone I got has a micro SIM. I was not happy to have to get a new but when you need a phone, you need a phone.

Yep, it could be an issue with the SIM card. They are free at your local Corporate Verizon store; wouldn't hurt to try replacing the card and see if that corrects the issue.

tikibar1, I have to say that's something that I should have tried before getting a new phone. But alas I didn't
